Internship Program Admissions

Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:

The goal of the internship at the NMSU Aggie Health and Wellness Center is to train social justice-oriented psychotherapists for entry into the field of health service psychology.  To support this goal, trainees at our site also have the opportunity to grow professionally in dedicated areas of special interest. Possible areas of emphasis include: training administration, Spanish language therapy rotation, LGBTQ+ health, psychopharmacology in NM, or social justice-oriented outreach. Interns may also have the opportunity to develop their own area of emphasis if resources allow.
